NorthEast United record their second win of the season, beat SC East Bengal by 2-0

A comfortable Victory against SC East Bengal gives some confidence to the host as they won their second game of the Indian Super League 2021/22 season.

NorthEast United registered their second win of the Indian Super League 2021/22 season after beating SC East Bengal by 2-0 on Friday. It was a pretty good game for the host as they were looking confident and outrun their opponent in the match. It was a good game of football for the NorthEast United FC. They didn’t even let the visitors score a single goal and were successful in keeping the well-deserved clean sheet. Only two goals were scored in this match and both the goals came in the second half.

The first-half performance of NorthEast United was really commendable as they were able to keep the possession on the ball for most of the time. They also created so many good chances in the first 45 minutes but couldn’t convert them into goals. After the half-time whistle blown, the home side seemed frustrated a bit as the score was 0-0 even after their dominating performance in the half. But, Khalid Jamil’s (NorthEast United FC’s manager) men didn’t stop in the first half. They started the second half more aggressively and got their reward in the 60th minute when midfielder V.P. Suhair sends the ball into the net, assisted by NorthEast’s forward named Laldanmawia Ralte.

Not much time was taken by the host to double the lead as defender Patrick Flottmann scores and made the game more difficult for the visitors. Though SC East Bengal created some chances, it never seemed that they are going to pull one goal off. Later, East Bengal’s midfielder Antonio Perosevic was shown a red card by the referee and it was all over for the visitors.
