Chelsea has been dealt a significant blow with striker Nicolas Jackson sidelined until early April due to a hamstring injury. The 23-year-old Senegalese forward sustained the injury during the 2-1 victory over West Ham on February 3. Initial assessments underestimated the severity, but subsequent scans revealed a more serious issue, ruling him out for approximately six weeks.
Jackson’s absence is a considerable setback for manager Enzo Maresca, especially with fellow striker Marc Guiu also sidelined due to a muscle problem. This leaves Chelsea without a natural center-forward, complicating team selection and attacking strategies.
In Jackson’s absence, Christopher Nkunku, who has netted 13 goals this season, is expected to lead the attack. However, only two of those goals have come in the Premier League, highlighting his limited top-flight appearances. The team may also look to wingers Jadon Sancho and Pedro Neto to fill the space.
