Messi finally won a major title for leading Argentina Copa America title by defeating Brazil in the finals and ended the suffering of never winning a major title. Angel Di Maria scored a goal in the 22nd minute of the game which led Argentina to victory over Brazil by 1-0 in Maracana Stadium in Rio. Messi’s former teammate Neymar burst into tears of losing a final and shown big respect to go and congratulate him.

Neymar was seen going to the Argentina camp and embracing Messi. The Brazilian captain had led his team to victory three times. Both Messi and Neymar were seen getting emotional for each other after a long time. Neymar was congratulating Messi for his first major title while his former captain would have consolidated the Brazilian captain.
The only goal of Di Maria broke the Brazilian defence to receive a long ball on the right flank and then chipped it effortlessly over goalkeeper Ederson’s head to slot the ball into the goal. Rodrigo Paul had assisted Di Maria with the goal.
Lionel Messi ended the tournament as becoming the leading scorer with five goals and four assists. It was an unfortunate day for Neymar as he couldn’t score a goal for Brazil. As Argentina lifted the South-American title after 1993.
