The Carabao Cup first semifinal was played between Newcastle United and Southampton on Tuesday night, 24th January. It was a first leg tie and Newcastle United are leading Southampton FC by 1-0 in the first leg. So, Eddie Howe’s men have their one leg in the finals of the Carabao Cup (2022/23 season).
Newcastle United are in the form of their life this season as compared to the last one, they are achieving so much this season as last season they were trying hard to stay in the Premier League and in this they are trying hard to be in the top 4.
The difference has been made by their new ownership and management, and new manager named Eddie Howe who has started their redevelopment process in a right way. Newcastle United’s midfielder Joelinton scored the only goal in the first leg of the Carabao Cup Semifinals which has got them a bit closer to the finals.
The second semi-final will be played on Wednesday night, 25th January between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest.
