Despite interest from Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr, Luka Modric intends to remain at Real Madrid. Modric, 37, in the final months of his current contract with Los Blancos, has not agreed to renew his contract. The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner recently discussed his contract situation.


It has been a phenomenal period for the Croatian since he joined Los Blancos in 2012. The former Tottenham Hotspur star has established himself as one of the most talented midfielders of this generation. Throughout his career, he has appeared in 473 games for Real Madrid, scoring 37 goals and providing 76 assists. Modric won twenty-two major trophies at Real Madrid, including five UEFA Champions League titles, three La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey and five FIFA Club World Cup titles. Luka Modric has scored four goals in 24 matches in the La Liga 2022/2023 season. Modric is widely regarded as the best player in Croatian football history. He led the club to a historic second-place finish in the 2018 World Cup before helping them clinch the third spot in Qatar last December. For his spectacular performance for the national team at the World Cup in Russia, he was awarded the competition’s Golden Ball. Modric won the Ballon d’Or in 2018s, FIFA The Best Men’s Player in 2018, and UEFA Men’s Player of the Year 2017/18.
