Messi’s No 10 jersey now officially taken by Brazilian Ansu Fati at Barcelona

The teenage forward has now been given the jersey that was worn by Argentina superstar Lionel Messi for the majority of his career.

The post- Lionel Messi era is underway at Barcelona and now they have a new number 10 as well with Ansu Fati confirming to take over. FC Barcelona has officially announced that Ansu Fati will now take over Lionel Messi’s no 10 jerseys. That’s a very big shirt to fill but the 18- year old who is currently out injured has a bag filled with talent and the world on his feet. There were major speculations all over the internet whether the No 10 jersey should be officially retired or no since the departure of Lionel Messi to PSG in August last month.

Barcelona FC has now officially announced their decision to keep the jersey in speculation, but teenager Ansu Fati was honoured to be given as he will now follow the footsteps of Messi, who will start his new chapter in France after joining PSG on a free transfer.

Later, Barcelona confirmed the news with a video of Ansu Fati presented with the shirt on social media with a caption “ Our new number, made in La Masia”

Ansu has been dubbed one of the most exciting young players of his generation, but he has a long way to go before he can match the achievements of Messi.
