Lionel Messi has the best chance to win his 7th Ballon D’or as he finished La Liga for the 5th successive season as the leading scorer, he also won his long-awaited international trophy with a Copa America. He also showed this level of dominance in La Liga and is considered this year’s favourite.
Few would have anticipated Jorginho to be amongst the front runners for the Ballon d’Or a year ago, but the Chelsea midfielder finds himself as one of the favourites in the current market. Jorginho was excellent during Chelsea’s triumphant Champions League campaign. He followed that success by playing a central role as Italy won Euro 2020, with the star’s claiming of two of football’s biggest prizes catapulting him into contention for the Ballon d’Or.
Robert Lewandowski is another player who has one the highest chance to win the Ballon d’Or. The Poland international scored 55 goals in all competitions as Bayern and he has continued to score goals at an extraordinary rate since, including scoring a record-breaking 41 goals in just 29 Bundesliga appearances last season.
