The Dutch forward Memphis Depay is set to sign for Atletico Madrid as per Fabrizio Romano. Spanish side Atletico Madrid have agreed a deal with their rival club named FC Barcelona to sign their forward Memphis Depay on a permanent deal.
Memphis joined the Spanish gaints in June 2021 in the summer transfer window. It was a dream move for the Dutch player but the new manager Xavi didn’t want the player as he doesn’t suit the playing style of the former Barcelona midfielder. The player hasn’t had a good time in Barcelona and thus he wanted to leave as well. As per reports from Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Memphis Depay will be traveling to Madrid soon for his medicals with Atletico Madrid.
This will be a 5-year deal with Atletico Madrid which will run until 2028.
“Memphis Depay to Atlético Madrid, here we go! Agreement sealed on fee around €3/4m to Barcelona, Depay is set to travel to Madrid for medicals soon,” tweeted Fabrizio Romano on Thursday, 19th January.
