Mbappe’s brace help PSG qualify for the Round of 32 of the French Cup

There is currently no competition for PSG in Ligue 1 as well as in French Cup as they are not letting anyone go past them. On Sunday night, they won against the fifth-tier team SC Feignies to qualify for the Round of 32 of the French Cup.

PSG is currently 13 points clear on top in the Ligue 1. The second-positioned team Marseille is on 32 points as compared to PSG’s 45, but the second-placed side still has one game in hand. Despite some questions regarding Mauricio Pochettino’s (Paris Saint-Germain Manager) coaching style at PSG keep on coming, no doubt he is doing great in France. PSG recently qualified for the knockout of the Champions League after finishing 2nd in the group. Their Champions League run was not at all bad as Pochettino also defeated the table toppers Guardiola’s Manchester City by 2-0 when they meet for the first time this season.

Talking about this French Cup’s match against SC Feignies which was held on Sunday night, PSG was absolute class and dominating in their 3-0 victory. French forward Kylian Mbappe scored a brace and Mauro Icardi was another name that was on the scoresheet. Mbappe scored the first and the last goal of the match. The referee awarded a penalty to the visitors (Paris Saint-Germain)  in the 16th minute which was converted into a goal by the young French star Kylian Mbappe. The host gave away the penalty again to Mauricio Pochettino’s men in the 30th minute after a rash challenge by Marigard on Mbappe. This time, it was PSG’s striker Mauro Icardi who took the penalty and he made no mistake to double the lead for the visitors. As expected by fans, PSG was leading in the half-time by 2-0.

Despite a dominating performance, PSG was able to score only three goals where it seemed that they could have scored some more. The last goal of the match came in the 51st minute when PSG’s forward Kylian Mbappe smashes the ball into the net and completed his brace with that. PSG has now qualified for the Round of 32 of the French Cup, who is also one of the strong contenders to win this title again this year.
