Marcus Rashford expressed his desire to stay at Manchester United after he was announced as one of the winners of the Sport for Social Change award for his work towards child poverty and providing free meals to school kids.
Speaking of the bond the 23 year old has with his boyhood club Manchester United, Rashford said, “For me, I never look beyond Manchester United. “As a kid I’ve never looked beyond Manchester United in my mind, it wouldn’t sit right for me to be pulling on another shirt.
“I think people only see some of the stuff that’s been happening since I’ve been in the first team, but the bond that I have with United is much greater than just these last five years, and it will forever be greater than my actual career.
“They’re the reason that I’ve become a footballer, they’ve given me an opportunity to express myself and find out that I had talent in football,” added Rashford.
Rashford also mentioned that he wants to give his all to the club, saying, “I just want to do the best I can for the club whilst I’m here, so hopefully I’m here for the long term.”
Manchester United play Manchester City at Old Trafford on Saturday, December 12.
