Manchester United player Mason Greenwood has been further arrested on suspicion of killing and raping a woman. The 20-year old Man United player was held in custody on Monday by the Greater Manchester Police and the police have been granted to keep the player in custody until Wednesday.
Police were provided a ‘fourth day’ to question the player as he has not been formally charged as a suspect. The Greater Manchester Police were certainly aware of the social media posts by the woman and the woman has been getting specialist support from officials.
According to TOI, the police reported in their statement that the ‘suspect’ was detained by the police on Sunday after the unit came across the social media posts and video uploaded online by the woman.
Police will question the suspect for two more days as the woman reporting for physical abuse has been getting specialist treatment by the team. Police add on that the enquiries found and held till now suggest the suspect’s further arrest on suspicion of threatening to kill and sexual assault a woman.
As stated earlier by Manchester United, Mason Greenwood will not be playing or practising in the club as he is suspended until further notice. Nike Football broke down all ties with the sportswear-partnership player Mason Greenwood ahead of the further allegations on the 20-year-old.
EA sports removed Mason Greenwood from the active squad team from FIFA 22 game and have also removed him from ultimate packs.
