Ten Hag has been impressed by the striker’s hunger and big-match temperament. Speaking to reporters before United’s trip to Newcastle, Ten Hag admitted he was considering making Weghorst’s deal permanent.

The Dutch striker has been busy since moving to Old Trafford, starting 18 consecutive games but scoring just two goals in that time. Therefore, I’d say Weghorst is not everyone’s cup of tea. Regarding plans, Weghorst is not the most prolific, but his overall game warrants appreciation from his coaches and teammates. You could say he’s willing to do much hard work, so Ten Hag may opt to keep the Netherlands international.
