Manchester United unveil Raphael Varane to their fans at Old Trafford ahead of their season opener to the visiting Leeds United.


Manchester United is delighted to announce the signing of Raphael Varane, keeping him at the club until June 2025.

Manchester United have completed the signing for the French defender Raphael Varane having him revealed to the fans at Old Trafford prior to their game against Leeds. The club is said to have agreed upon an approximate 41 million euros deal with the Spanish giants Real Madrid. 

United have agreed to have been in talks with Real Madrid on July 27th to sign the 28-year-old defender.

Varane shall not be taking part in the season opener for the red devils as he is yet to train with the squad. A pending medical and personal terms are yet to be finalised.

The Frenchmen becomes Ole Gunnars third signing in this transfer window after the arrival of the two Englishmen Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and Tom Heaton from Aston Villa.

Over the decade that Varane has spent at the Spanish capital he has made 360 appearances where he has claimed four Champions League trophies, three La Liga titles, the 2018 FIFA World Cup, four FIFA Club World Cup titles and one Copa Del Rey.

“Manchester United is one of the most iconic clubs in world football and the chance to come here and play in the Premier League is something I couldn’t turn down,” said Varane in an interview with his new club.

Manchester United ‘s manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also expressed his excitement about the signing and said: “He is a unique defender with a rare combination of top-level attributes that I know will rub off on our younger players.”
