The Solskjaer saga has taken another turn, as the reports now suggest that the Manchester United management has decided to give Norwegian another chance. Only 24 hours ago several rumours from all around were flooding in about the United management sacking Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. It all started from in the summer transfer window, where United had spent a fortune to bring in players like Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane, and Cristiano Ronaldo, after this everyone started naming them as the title challengers in the Premier League and expected them to win big in their Champions League matches.
Everything was going well for them until they faced Young Boys, a Swiss club, in the UCL and faced a defeat after dictating the terms for most of the match. This brought a sudden change in fortune for the Red Devils. Their form slumped and they faced humiliating defeats wherever they went. For example, in the 3rd round of the Carabao Cup, they were defeated by West Ham United. Then in the same week, they were defeated by Aston Villa, In the coming weeks, they drew against Everton and lost two consecutive matches in the premier league by humiliating margins, of 4-2 against Leicester City and 5-0 against Liverpool. As things stand, Manchester United currently stands in 7th place of the league table with 14 points from their 9 games. They have won only 1 of their 5 premier league encounters, as a result of which the job of Solskjaer has come under scrutiny.
According to reports by Fabrizio Romano, and ESPN, it was believed that the former Chelsea coach Antonio Conte and Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane were in contention for the role. But a recent tweet by Romano has confirmed that United is going to show faith in their manager and will give him another week or two to produce positive results against teams like Tottenham, Atalanta, and Manchester City, in the coming weeks.
