The match between Brentford and Manchester United was played on Wednesday night in Premier League.
The match between two sides was originally scheduled to be played in December but the game had to be postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak at United’s camp.This match was also visitor’s first game at the new stadium (Community Stadium) of Brentford in London.
While United squad is underperforming this season , they looked good against Aston villa at Villa park on Saturday , even though a two goal cushion by Bruno Fernandes could not seal the 3 points for the red devils.
David de gea kept Manchester United in the game in the first half against Brentford after he made two brilliant saves from point blank range.But united bounced back in the second half as Elanga scored from the cross which was made by Fred to score his second goal for the club in the 55th minute of the match which was followed by a tap in from Mason Greenwood with the help of the pass from Fernandes in the 62 minute.
Cristiano Ronaldo looked frustrated after Rangnick subbed him of for Harry Maguire but the united boss was sure to bring him off which paid off as Marcus Rashford made it 3-0 in the 77th minute which sealed the game for the red devils.
The result on Wednesday night makes them level with Arsenal on points and are now placed 7th in the table with Arsenal having a game in hand.
