Manchester United players return to training after a week off due to the COVID-19 outbreak

Ralf Rangnick’s men are back on training at Carrington after a week off because of the COVID-19 outbreak. Varane, Maguire, Rashford, Mata were some of the players who were spotted at the training ground on Tuesday.

Manchester United players are back to training at Carrington (Manchester United’s training ground) on Tuesday. The players had a week off due to the COVID-19 outbreak cases. It was really a bad two weeks for the Premier League as many games were postponed and some of the games were played at high risk. There were only 4 matches played in matchweek 18 of the Premier League as all the other matches were postponed due to COVID-19. Manchester United has only played 16 games in the league after their matches against Brentford and Brighton got postponed last week.

Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, officials were planning to cancel the matches which were due to play after Christmas but they made a decision on Monday that Premier League matches will continue as per the schedule. however, the Premier League official statement also read that it is possible that the matches which are to be played in January will be postponed. Due to this, Man United players weren’t able to train, but on Tuesday Man United issued an official statement.


“Manchester United’s players have started a return to training at Carrington, on a staggered basis. The complex was closed for first-team operations last week due to a COVID-19 outbreak at the club but opened again this morning (Tuesday),” Man United’s official statement read.

It was reported that Centre-backs Raphael Varane and Harry Maguire, Scott Mctominay, Fred, Mata, Luke Shaw, Jesse Lingard were among the players who were spotted at training on Tuesday. The Red Devils’ next game in the Premier League is against Newcastle United on 28th December at 1:30 am (IST).
