Manchester United investigating fans threw objects at Diego Simeone

After the place of Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals at the Champions League was confirmed. Simeone rushed down immediately with joy in the way towards the tunnel. And at that moment Simeone hurled with several objects including bottles as well as drinks. Diego Simeone was out of awareness, as the home fans pelted him with drinks at Old Trafford following Atletico Madrid’s win. Atletico won the game against Manchester United by 1-0 for an aggregate victory of 2-1.

UEFA is waiting for the match observers’ reports before deciding whether to charge the Manchester United club for the incident or not. Throwing objects onto the field of play is against the regulation of the ground and prohibited. Including that such incidents are subject to a ban for three years. The incident might feature in the UEFA delegate’s report on the game.
