Manchester United secured a crucial victory over Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday with a 2-0 win. The Red Devils started strongly, taking the lead through midfielder Scott McTominay’s goal in the first half. McTominay, who has been in fine form recently, continued his impressive run with a composed finish past Everton’s goalkeeper.
United continued to dominate the first half, but Everton remained dangerous on the counter-attack. The visitors came close to equalizing on a few occasions, but the United defense stood firm to maintain their lead.
In the second half, United continued to push forward and were rewarded with a second goal from forward Anthony Martial. The Frenchman, who has struggled for form this season, showed his class with a well-taken finish to put the game beyond Everton’s reach.
Despite some late pressure from Everton, United held on to secure a valuable three points in their pursuit of a top-four finish.
