Six experienced men are scheduled to leave at the expiration of their agreements, thus the United team is likely to experience a big revamp in the summers. Pogba, Matic, Edinson Cavani, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, and Lee Grant are all free of contract at the end of the month, and interim coach Ralf Rangnick has indicated that United might require up to ten additional signings.

During this campaign, the Barcelona star has been a constant in Spain, yet he may be ready for something new. De Jong joined Barça from Ajax in 2019 and inked a new six-year agreement in October 2020. A transfer to Man United might be enticing since he could reconcile with his old Ajax manager Erik ten Hag.

De Jong will price the Red Devils anything between £60 and £70 million. Barca may relent, despite their reservations about retaining their midfielder for another campaign. De Jong’s price could drop even more if he stays and has a disappointing season. Barca’s financial condition may cause them to sell Frankie.

In LaLiga, Frenkie has played 29 games and completed 45 outings throughout all categories. He has featured 138 times for Barcelona, although his greatest successes occurred when he was in Ajax. He assisted Ten Hag’s side to the Champions League semi-finals in his farewell season in Amsterdam, ultimately succumbing to a drama versus Tottenham Hotspur. In that campaign, he also won both the Eredivisie and the KNVB Cup.
