Manchester United and Liverpool set to battle for Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze

According to Spanish publication La Razon, Manchester United have joined the race to sign Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze. United also face stiff competition from Liverpool, who look favourites to land the winger’s signature. Other clubs like Chelsea, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leicester City and Everton are also names that have been linked with the Nigerian.

The 21 year old reportedly also has a release clause of 84.5 million pounds. Manchester United have been looking for a right winger in the market ever since Angel Di Maria left the club. The club also failed to sign English winger Jadon Sancho in the summer transfer window. United’s reluctance to pay the 120 million euros that Borussia Dortmund wanted costed them a player who would have probably sorted the club’s future in the right wing position for the next few years.

Chukwueze has 13 goals and 12 assists in 91 appearances for Villarreal. It will be interesting to know whether Manchester United go back in the market for Jadon Sancho in 2021 or continue to pursue Samuel Chukwueze’s signature.
