Manchester City defeats Real Madrid in a close match to have a 4-3 advantage (aggregate) over the opponents as Benzema’s brace and Vinicius’ goals were not enough in the Champions League semifinals 1st leg.

It all started with Kevin De Bruyne when he took a lead for his side at just the 2nd minute of the game while Gabriel Jesus doubled the figure at the 11th minute. For Real Madrid, Karim Benzema scored at 33′ minutes to take Ederson’s clean sheet away.

Manchester City started with another lead in the second half with Phil Foden’s strike at the 53rd minute. The celebration was on but couldn’t last longer than two minutes when Vinicius Junior scored for the Whites in the 55th minute to pull one back. Soon after the Brazilian’s strike, Bernardo Silva with a surprise hit at Courtois near the post and made it 4-2 for City.

Frenchman Benzema came harder in the 82nd minute and made it a brace for him with a penalty shoot on target but that wasn’t enough to beat the opponents at home before it all ended for the Premier League table-toppers against the La Liga table topper.

Both the teams will be in action at the Santiago Bernabeu on May 5th, Thursday, for their return leg clash at 12:30 am IST.
