On 7th February 2023, Premier League charged Man City for breaching numerous fair play rules. The premier league alleged that Man City still needs to fully disclose the financial payment to one of their managers over four years. In February last year, Manchester City was banned by UEFA from all European competitions. In addition, Man City had to pay a fine of 30 million.
Man City challenged the allegations against them, and the club successfully overturned the ban in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) with the club bond to pay a fine of 10 million only.
But now, as things stand, another legal headache is at the club’s doorstep. To take on the serious allegations made of the premier league this time, Manchester City has hired Blackstone Chambers lawyer Pannick KC to fight their legal battle against Premier League. The profound lawyer has had business ties with the Royal Family of UEA. Back then, Pannick KC helped Sheikh Maktoum, the former ruler of Dubai and former Prime Minister of the UAE, in legal proceedings against his former wife in the Family Division of the High Court and the Court of Appeal.
