Manchester City star Ferran Torres ruled out for few weeks following a fracture to his foot on international duty

Spain’s forward and City’s star striker Ferran Torres broke his foot during the semi-finals against Italy.

The 21-year-old striker is set to sit out for at least a month due to his foot injury. Torres scored 2 goals in the semi-finals against Italy to make the UEFA nations league finals and is suspected to have the injury during that match, he was cleared for the finals but unfortunately lost to France 2-1. His small fracture in the right foot will make Liverpool vulnerable to upcoming important matches.

He will miss the Manchester derby against Manchester United and will most certainly be absent during the UCL matchup against Messi, Mbappe, and Neymar’s PSG, while Spain faces Greece and Sweden next month’s World Cup qualifiers. Torres has reached City and is being evaluated by the team doctors. Due to Pep’s shortages in the forward position and failing to sign back Sergio Aguero and now losing Ferran Torres due to injury for a month, the 3rd place City will now have to adjust with Gabriel Jesus playing as a striker.

“Ferran Torres has suffered an injury to his right foot whilst on international duty,” a City statement said on Thursday. The forward, who was approved fit to be played against the Nation League champions France, is set to go through further examinations add will be kept scrutinized as stated by the club.
