The 24-year-old centre-half was named as Manchester City’s Player of the Season and the Premier League Player of the Season last year in the 2020/21 campaign. Not only this, but Dias also won the FWA Footballer of the Year award for the 2020/21 season. He had some amazing games for the Premier League champions Manchester City last year. He has created a great impression of him in the team’s defence as well as on Guardiola in just one year.

“I’m very happy to sign the new deal. I have enjoyed every single minute of my time at City since joining last year. Playing for City has surpassed all my expectations and it’s an absolute pleasure to be part of such an incredible squad,” Ruben Dias told in the CityTV interview posted on their official website.

Manchester City is impressed with the player and they don’t want him to leave the club at any cost. Along with the contract extension, City has also decided to double the Portuguese defender’s wages. Now, Dias will earn £180,000 a week wages from his previous £90,000.
