Luis Suarez to miss Brazil Clash as he tested positive for Coronavirus

Uruguay’s one of the best player Luis Suarez has tested positive for coronavirus.

One of the greatest striker of his generation, Luis Suarez has tested positive for Coronavirus and is going to miss their World Cup qualifier against Brazil, local football chiefs said on Monday. Luis is also going to miss his club Atletico Madrid’s La Liga outing against Barcelona.

“Tests have been carried out on all the members of the national team, with the result that the players Luis Suarez (and) Rodrigo Munoz and the official, Matias Faral, have tested positive for COVID-19,” the Uruguayan football federation said in a statement.

All three are “in good health”, it added. They joined defender Matias Vina, who tested positive on Saturday after Uruguay’s 3-0 win over Colombia in Barranquilla.

Brazil tops the South American qualifying group with 9 points, Argentina stands with 7 points and Ecuador and Uruguay both stands with 6 points each.

Luis Suarez has in all total 19 trophies, which includes six league titles a UEFA Champions title and a Copa America with Uruguay. Luis Suarez has also ended the six-year dominance of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo by winning the La Liga’s Pichichi Trophy in 2016.
