Luis Diaz returns to full training ahead of Liverpool’s match against Manchester City

Since Arsenal’s 3-2 defeat on October 10 last year, Luis Diaz has not played

Reports indicate the return of Luis Diaz after Liverpool posted a video on Twitter of him walking out with his teammates at the AXA Training Centre on Thursday. After returning to training this week, Diaz should be in the squad for Saturday’s match at the Etihad. This is nearly six months after the last game.

Initially, the winger was scheduled to return from a knee injury following the World Cup. Despite this, a setback occurred at the Reds’ training camp in Dubai, necessitating surgery. Since Arsenal’s 3-2 defeat on October 10, he has not played. Diaz has played an essential role for Liverpool this season, scoring four goals in 12 appearances before his injury. On January 30 2022, Diaz signed a five-year contract with Premier League club Liverpool for €45 million with €15 million add-ons. Before signing for Liverpool, Diaz was interested in Tottenham Hotspur. Upon learning of Tottenham’s bid, Liverpool changed their summer plans and signed Diaz on a permanent deal. Diaz impressed Liverpool’s manager Jürgen Klopp.

It has been a joyous reception for Diaz’s highly anticipated return to action, with many fans leaving thoughtful comments in the tweet.
