Real Madrid won the fifth Clasico on a bounce on Wednesday to advance to the Super Cup final where they will face Atletico Madrid or Athletic Bilbao on Sunday. But Xavi’s young Barcelona’s side showcased their talent and the reason why the club has believed in them.

Real Madrid took the game to extra time to clinch a 3-2 win over Barcelona. It is for the first time in a long period any of the sides have enjoyed such dominance in the Clasico Since Pep Guardiola’s Barcelona won 5-0 at Camp Nou in the year 2010.

The in-form attacking duo of Karim Benzema & Vinicius Junior both were on the score sheet which was not a shock either, even  Ansu Fati made a comeback into the side after 2 months from the bench. Vinicius broke the deadlock after 25 mins which was followed by Barcelona’s equalizer by Luuk de Jong just before halftime at 41 mins. Abde & Pedri came off the bench at halftime and Fati came in place for Lukk De Jong after which their side was looking more aggressive and was more energetic in the way they played.

In the 72nd min of the match, Benzema made it 2-1 by scoring on the rebound. As Madrid was on the verge of winning the tie Ansu Fati made it 2-2 in the 83 min. For the remaining time, Barcelona was controlling the game until the cool finish by Valverde in the 98 min of the extra time.
