Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino have both missed Liverpool’s latest game against Norwich and are also ruled out of their upcoming fixture against Leeds United.
Jurgen Klopp in the recent press conference confirmed that both Jota and Firmino will miss the upcoming match at Anfield. ” No, for tomorrow, no chance, and then [for] the final we will see. I don’t know at the moment,” the manager said as reported by Sky Sports News.
Diogo Jota suffered an ankle injury in the first half of Liverpool’s Champions League away fixture against Inter. Jota was subbed off with Firmino at the beginning of the second half. Firmino came on and scored the opening goal against Inter at the 75th minute and the game ended with a comfortable 2-0 win for the Reds. However, Roberto Firmino picked up a muscular injury which left him missing the match against Norwich and now against Leeds too.
It is a very vital week for the reds as they play Leeds at Anfield followed by the finals of the Carabao Cup against Chelsea. The match against Leeds is also a chance to cover the gap to Manchester City to only three points with a win over Leeds who stands 15th on the points table.
Jurgen Klopp and the whole team hope for both the players to be back with the squad as they fight for their first silverware of the season on Sunday and also contest for the Premier League title.
