Premier League giants Liverpool have initiated talks with Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia over a potential move to Anfield. The young midfielder has been on the radar of several top clubs, including Arsenal, but a recent signing by the Gunners has seen them rule out their pursuit of the talented youngster.
Lavia, who joined Southampton from Manchester City’s youth academy in 2021, quickly made a name for himself with impressive performances in the midfield. His ability to control the game, dictate the tempo, and break up opposition attacks has caught the attention of top-flight clubs, and it’s no surprise that Liverpool are keen to secure his services.
Earlier in the transfer window, Arsenal had expressed a strong interest in acquiring Lavia’s services. Negotiations between the Gunners and Southampton were reportedly ongoing as they saw great potential in the player. However, Arsenal’s signing of West Ham’s midfield sensation, Declan Rice, seems to have shifted their focus, leading them to withdraw their pursuit of Romeo Lavia.
