Liverpool eyeing a move for Mason Mount or Matheus Nunes in the summer

Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will bid farewell to the Merseyside club this summer.

There has been renewed interest in Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Matheus Nunes on the part of Liverpool. Journalist Fabrizio Romano says the Reds are considering adding multiple new pieces to their midfield in the summer. This is as they prepare to cut ties with Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. After failing to impress since moving to Anfield, Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain will bid farewell to the Merseyside club when their contract expires in the summer.

When the transfer window opens for business in the summer, Jurgen Klopp will have to address the imminent shortage of numbers in the engine room of Liverpool. There has already been interesting from the Reds in Chelsea’s Mason Mount, a player who could be on his way out of Stamford Bridge at the end of the season unless his contract wobble is resolved in time.

However, Liverpool must beat stiff competition to capture the Englishman’s services. It is still uncertain whether the 24-year-old will switch to west London for Anfield in the future. Wolverhampton’s Nunes now has a fallback option if the first option isn’t available. Wolves facing uncertain times in the Premier League, the 24-year-old has been impressive.

In the last few months since the versatile Portuguese midfielder joined Molineux from Sporting Lisbon last summer, he has proven to be one of the few bright spots in the West Midlands. While he still hasn’t scored his first Premier League goal, Nunes’ outstanding performances have put him back on Liverpool’s radar even though he’s still waiting for his first league goal.

Reds were interested in signing him while he was at Sporting, but Wolves won the race, and he ended up at Molineux for โ‚ฌ45 million after signing with Wolves during his time at Sporting. With his maiden Premier League season being such a success, it will likely take much more to lure him away from the club.

Jude Bellingham has an excellent relationship with Liverpool players. Romano says Bellingham has positive relationships with players at top clubs. But that’s not likely to be the decisive factor in his decision if he moves on from Dortmund this summer. However, Liverpool fans will surely still hope the England international chooses them. He looks suitable for Jurgen Klopp as he rebuilds his midfield after this disappointing campaign.
