The English Premier League is about to begin once the FIFA World Cup officially ends on 18th December, Sunday. Ahead of these Premier League games, the teams are playing club friendlies to maintain the flow. 2019-20 champions Liverpool FC also played a game against Serie A club named AC Milan on Friday night.
The game was played Al-Maktoum Stadium which is situated in Dubai. Some of the Liverpool players are back after their nation’s exit from the World Cup 2022. However, there are still some players remaining to be back in training for them. Despite that Liverpool FC gave a spectacular performance against AC Milan.
Mohamed Salah scored the opener in just the 5th minute for Liverpool and then Saelemaekers equalized it in the 29th minute. Thiago Alcantara’s goal just before half-time was enough for Liverpool to take lead in the first 45 minutes.
Darwin Nunez who came on from the bench in the second half took only 30 minutes to score two goals in the game. Darwin was back in the Liverpool squad from Qatar a few days ago and had a great impact.
Both the clubs also decided to play the extra time and penalties just to give some game time to their players. AC Milan won in the penalties by 4-3.
