Lionel Messi set to miss the midweek encounter against RB Leipzig due to an injury

The club’s statement said that Messi had  “a pain in his hamstring in his left thigh and a painful knee due to bruising.”

PSG is treading in deep waters as the number of injured players on their bench seems to be mounting. After a long spell of injury for Sergio Ramos, whom they bought in the summer transfer window and is yet to make his debut, their other star signing Lionel Messi too has joined the bench.

According to reports of AFP, the Argentine has a left hamstring problem and some pain in his knee. It all started in their last league 1 game against Lille. The star was withdrawn from the pitch at the halftime mark. Later he also missed the training on Monday and the club announced confirmation on Tuesday that the star will miss out on the midweek UCL clash against Leipzig. The club’s statement said that Messi had  “a pain in his hamstring in his left thigh and a painful knee due to bruising.” He was the player who made a difference against the German side by scoring a brace, two weeks ago, helping his team win the game 3-2. The player however will be looking to make a speedy recovery as he is to join his national squad during the international break, where Argentina is to face the likes of Uruguay and Brazil.
