PSG’s talisman Kylian Mbappe finally broke the deadlock and opened the scoring for PSG. Angel Di Maria found a pass that exposed AS Monaco’s defensive line through to Mbappe, that left Monaco’s centre back and captain Axel Disasi having to match the French forward’s pace, something most defenders are unable to do. Mbappe bulldozed past Disasi and slotted the ball past Monaco’s keeper Vito Mannone to make it 1-0 to PSG.

In the 37th minute, Colin Dagba won a penalty for PSG after a rash challenge from Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana in the box. Kylian Mbappe further extended the lead for PSG through a penalty to make it 2-0. Going into half time, it looked like a usual comfortable evening for the French giants.

AS Monaco came out a totally different side in the second half. Monaco striker Kevin Volland made it 1-2 to Monaco after Gelson Martins squared the ball to him, leaving Volland at point blank range. The German showed composure and slotted it past Keylor Navas.

33 year old Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas got an assist for the equaliser where he squared it to Kevin Volland from a cross, making it a simple tap in for the Monaco striker.

Monaco got the winning goal after 24 year old defender Abdou Diallo got sent off after a second yellow for a tactical foul in the box. Diallo lost the ball and pulled Volland down in the box, gifting a penalty to Monaco. Cesc Fabregas made it 3-2 to AS Monaco, putting the ball in the top left corner where Keylor Navas had no chance.

Monaco pulled off an incredible upset which puts them 2nd in the league table with 20 points. PSG are still top of the league with 24 points.
