After the international break got over the fans were licking their lips to witness the club football once again and the match between Manchester United and Leicester City was a perfect restart the fans could have hoped for. Both the teams had decided to go with their strongest lineup. James Vardy, Iheanacho, and Maddison were starting for Leicester city, while Ronaldo, Sancho, Fernandes, and Greenwood playing in the attack for Manchester.

The Red Devils started off the game in a great manner, as after dominating the game Mason Greenwood the wonder kid scored the first goal of the game in the 19th minute. It was a great pass by Fernandes that found Greenwood on the right-hand side, who cut inside to beat Schmeichel in the far corner. The Leicester side was not going to go down without a fight and they made a comeback in the 31st minute. There was a mistake by De Gea and United captain Harry Maguire that led to the buildup of the goal, which was buried in the top corner by Tielemans. The first half ended with both teams tied at 1-1.

The second half for the most part was banal, as neither team could keep possession in the dangerous areas on the field. The game opened up after Leicester City’s defender Soyuncu scored a goal from a deflected ball from the corner, in the 78th minute giving his side the lead. The lead did not last for long though as Marcus Rashford, making his comeback from his injury, scored the equalizer in the  82nd minute. But it was really schoolboy stuff from Manchester, as only a minute later they conceded a goal as Jamie Vardy scored a venomous volley. From here onwards there was no comeback for Manchester United. Rubbing salt to the wounds, Brendan Rodger’s side scored a 90+ minute goal to ensure that there was no comeback possible. They won the game from 4 goals to 2.

Manchester United lost their first away game of the season, however, they still are positioned in the 5th position on the points table.
