Lampard continues to fail at Chelsea

Chelsea lose to Brentford on Wednesday night in the English Premier League.

Frank Lampard, the former Chelsea midfielder and now the team’s manager, has had a disappointing start to his second tenure at the club. After an impressive season with Derby County, where he led them to the playoffs in the Championship, Lampard was appointed as Chelsea’s manager in the summer of 2019.

In his first season, Lampard exceeded expectations by securing a top-four finish and reaching the FA Cup final. However, the second season has been a different story. Chelsea started the season well but have struggled for form in recent months, with Lampard unable to find a winning formula.

The Blues have lost four of their last six Premier League matches and have slipped to ninth in the table, ten points behind league leaders Manchester City. They were also knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Tottenham Hotspur in September and crashed out of the Champions League after the group stages
