La Liga to kick off on the weekend of August 14-15

LaLiga, Spanish championship will kick off the weekend of August 14-15 and run to May 22, the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) said in revealing the calender of fixtures. Spanish giant Real Madrid has won the most championships with 34 titles. Last time, Atletico Madrid won this championship as their 11th title.

The Spanish Cup final has been scheduled on April 23 with January 12 and 16 pencilled in for Super Cup dates and Saudi Arabia will host the event. The format is looked up as current league champion Atletico Madrid to take on the Copa del Rey runner-up Athletico Bilbao with the winners of the cup, Barcelona meeting the runner up in LaLiga and their rivals , Real Madrid.

The final showdown will be hosted on the shores of the Red sea at the King Abdullah International Stadium in Jeddah.

The start of the Laliga next season will allow the return of the fans to the stadium, who were unable to attend matches due to the Pandemic situation and restrictions by government to avoid  spread of Coronavirus, confirmed Spanish health minister Carolina Darias.

The stadium allowed around 5,000 people in the final two rounds of matches and now it has been said that higher capacity crowds will be allowed for the upcoming tournament.
