Paris Saint-Germain superstar Kylian Mbappe has been officially announced as the new face of the FIFA console games ahead of the new season.
As the sole cover star of FIFA 22, which is slated to hit stores later in the year, Mbappe will mark the second time in a row that he has fronted the popular video game series. FIFA football creators, EA Sports, posted a preview on their official accounts on Friday expressing their ‘delight’ at having Mbappe join the team. The youngster has previously appeared in promotional material for FIFA games, but now he’s taking centre stage by himself.
EA Sports also teased fans by adding: “Stay tuned for the game-changing reveal on July 11th.”

Mbappe spoke of his pride after receiving the top honour following the first round of talks which outlined that he would now be the main face of the franchise last year. FIFA 22 will include Mbappe in all three editions – the Standard, the Champions, and the Legends editions
Formerly, Real Madrid’s Eden Hazard – who was the cover athlete for FIFA 2020 – was the face of the game after Cristiano Ronaldo spent many years fronting the series. Mbappe, who idolized Ronaldo at a young age, has now followed his hero’s footsteps.
The new game is scheduled for release on October 9.
