Kylian Mbappe, who yesterday extended his contract with home club Paris Saint-Germain until the 2025 season in June, has picked his side for the UEFA Champions League final between Real Madrid and Liverpool.
Mbappe was Real Madrid’s long time interest and the Whites were confident that they will be finally able to sign the Frenchman and bring him to the Spanish side. The hope and everything were done for the 13-times European champions when it was announced that the Ligue 1 striker had decided to stay in Paris and not join the Los Blancos this summer. Following the extension and not joining Real Madrid, Mbappe has been facings a lot of negative comments from fans. Meanwhile, the French forward said, “I’ll be Real Madrid’s first supporter for the UCL final in Paris, my house,” reported Fabrizio Romano. Mbappe further thanked the club and president Perez and told, “I understand their disappointment.” He ended by saying, “I understand honour and privilege to be wanted by an institution such as Real Madrid.”
Mbappe was expected to join 35-times La Liga champions Real Madrid this summer and the club was optimistic while PSG was on the other side doing everything to keep the player in Paris which they succeeded. The player told them he is “happy” to continue and will do his best to give a “highest level” performance. The player seemed very happy to stay in the country where he was born and grew up.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid is now focused to play their final match against Liverpool for a record-extending 14th Champions League title on May 29, 12:30 IST.
