After the 3-3 draw at Southampton, Dejan Kulusevski stated that he did not take offence at Antonio Conte’s comments in his post-match press conference. After the Spurs blew a two-goal lead late in the game, the head coach attacked his players, calling them selfish and claiming they did not want to help one another.

As a result of Conte’s explosive remarks, his position as Tottenham’s head coach is now on the line, and his tenure in north London may be over soon. Kulusevski, who is currently away from Spurs on international duty with Sweden, was asked by Sky Sports about Conte. Following the game, he reflected on what had transpired at St Mary’s.

“No,” responded Dejan Kulusevski when asked if he took offence at the comments. “I know that I prepare myself to perform as well as possible, so I can always look in the mirror and see how well I have prepared myself.

“Sometimes I know I don’t play well enough, and I can take responsibility for that, but what he said was for him, and that’s his words. I respect him, and he helped me immensely during my career, so he’s still a significant man in our club and my world.”

When asked if he was happily working with Conte, Kulusevski replied, “Yeah.”
