Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is “confident” while his side faces Manchester City at home ground Santiago Bernabeu next for the Champions League second leg.
The Los Blancos faced a close game with a score of 4-3 against the Premier League champions as Benzema’s brace and Vinicius’ strike were not enough in front of the opponents as Kevin De Bruyne at minute 2′, Gabriel Jesus at 11′, Phil Foden at 53′ and Bernardo Silva at the 74th minute powered their side for an advantage over the Whites.
Despite the result, Frenchman Benzema is sure to have wonders on the return leg as he believes that his team will be able to qualify for the last two. “We will win the second leg at Santiago Bernabeu,” said Benzema to Movistar Plus. The striker who is the top scorer in La Liga and Champions League this season further stated that he and the 13-tikes European champions Real Madrid wants to win the Champions League this season. The 34-year-old also said that he is “a very confident man,” with a smile.
Both the teams will be in action next as Real Madrid is set to face Manchester City on Thursday, May 5, 12:30 am IST for the road to the final.
