Jorge Ortiz scores a hat-trick as FC Goa thrash Chennaiyin FC by 5-0

FC Goa had a massive victory against Chennaiyin FC in the Hero Indian Super League on Wednesday. Though the team not performing well this season they totally dominated this game and deserved the three points.

FC Goa hit five against Chennaiyin FC in the Hero Indian Super League on Wednesday. Chennaiyin FC didn’t even score a single goal in the match and the only thing they did was concede goals. Despite this massive victory, FC Goa remained in the 9th position in the Hero Indian Super League 2021/22 season points table. Chennaiyin FC is just above them with 19 points in 16 matches they played. Hyderabad still remained at the top of the table.

FC Goa started the scoring in just the 6th minute when Makan Chote scored a wonderful goal to give the lead to the visitors. Jorge Ortiz who scored the hat-trick in this match started his goal-show in the 20th minute. He scored another goal in the 41st minute to make the scoreline 3-0. Just before halftime, an own goal by Chennaiyin defender named Narayan Das made it 4-0 for the visitors. The goal somehow confirmed the victory of FC Goa in the match as it was looking very difficult for Chennaiyin FC to make a comeback in this game.

Later in the second half, Ortiz scored another goal to complete his hat-trick. The goal from FC Goa’s star striker (Jorge Ortiz) came in the 53rd minute which was also the last goal of the game. It was a disappointing and humiliating defeat for Bandovic’s men as they were struggling to create chances. Thus, the referee blew the final whistle as both the teams were desperately waiting for it. FC Goa still needs some wins to get to the upper half of the points table.
