Jonathan Giraldez is the new head coach of Barcelona Femini

FC Barcelona announced on Friday that Johnathan Giraldez has been appointed as the new head coach of Barca Femini on a contract of two years. Camp Ones tweeted, “Jonatan Giraldez, nuevo entrenador del Barca Femenio” (Jonathan Giraldez is the new head coach of Barca Femini). Giraldez has been working as former boss Luis Cortes’s assistant for the last two and a half years and today becomes the head coach of Barca Femini.

The newly appointed head coach delightfully said, “I’m tremendously excited. I am looking forward to the job because it’s such a nice group that we have, both the staff and the players. To coach here, the mentality has to win every game.”

“I have gained a lot of experience in the last two and a half years. At an elite club, you learn from the best. I have developed and perfected my idea. We have the tools to keep winning. That’s our mentality. It is very important to keep this idea developing. We have a nice challenge, which is to win again and that’s the intention,” he added.

The former Barca Femini coach stepped down after leading the team to a historic treble by saying he is no longer having the energy to continue the role. The new coach Giraldez will now have a task to try to continue the phenomenal success the women’s team has enjoyed over recent seasons.
