Joe Willock joins Newcastle on a six-year deal

Joe Willock, the former Arsenal forward has joined Newcastle United on a permanent deal. He signed his contract and was officially announced by Newcastle on Friday.

Newcastle United signed the man who was with them for the past six months on loan from Arsenal. They have successfully signed Joe Willock from Arsenal on a permanent six-year deal. Joe Willock was signed for Newcastle on loan in the winter transfer window last season. In the later half of the 20/21 Premier League season, Joe Willock was with Newcastle United, where he scored goals and made assists, which impressed Steve Bruce, the Newcastle United manager a lot. Willock convinced the manager to sign him not by words, but by displaying a great performance in the second half of the season for Newcastle.

“I knew Mikel Arteta would want to look at him in pre-season so we knew we’d have to be patient. We explored the loan option, but when that couldn’t happen we knew we had to buy him. Which is fantastic so fair play. We have had to be patient,” Steve Bruce said in the pre-match press conference.

The Manchester United legend, Steve Bruce also wanted to complete this deal as soon as possible so that he can register the player for their first Premier League game of the season. Newcastle has been scheduled to play against West Ham on Sunday in their opening game.

“We have to get him registered by 12pm and we hope we can play him against West Ham. Let’s not forget we have him for six years now which is great,” he added.

Joe Willock scored 8 goals in his 14 appearances for the club. In Newcastle United, he became the youngest player in the Premier League history to score in six consecutive games. Most of his goals for Newcastle were came at a crucial time. The Newcastle manager, Steve Bruce really likes this player. He wanted him and he got him.
