Ivan Rakitic leaves Barcelona to his former home club Sevilla

FC Barcelona and Sevilla came to an agreement for the signing of Ivan Raktic from Catalonia to Andalusia back to his former football club Sevilla where he spent three years, the transfer fee is reported to be around 1.5 million euros with 9 million in variables.

The Croatian International has played a major role in the clubs recent success stint, the midfielder ends his 6-year long run with Barca where he lifted La liga 4 times, a Champions league trophy in 2014/15 and also had FIFA Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup success. The decorated player had 13 trophies to his name with Barcelona and will be looking forward for more success and titles at Sevilla.

Rakitic was one of those players who turned up during the big games of the season, he has memories of scoring twice in El Clasico and surely the goal in the Finals of 2014/15 champions league will remain with him forever, the hard working midfielder has 310 caps to his name along with 36 goals and providing 36 assists.

The 32 -year old Croat will be looking to reignite his football at Sevilla as he was not the favourable choice for the coaches at Barcelona and a move away from Camp Nou is the right decision for the player as well as the club, back at Sevilla in 2014 before a move to Camp Nou the player had 117 appearances for the club and scored 27 goals. He also tasted European glory by winning the Europa Cup with Sevilla in 2013/14 season and was named man of the match in the Finals of Europa league.
