The Two-time Indian Super League winners Chennaiyin FC have signed the young defender Davinder Singh officially for a year contract ahead of the upcoming season.
The Indian international has missed the last three editions of the ISL because he suffered a knee injury before the 2018-2019 league campaign.

The 25-year old leaves the defending ISL champions Mumbai City to join the Marina Machans Chennaiyin FC. Davinder Singh has only managed to play 10 games for Mumbai city due to his long-standing injury out of which 8 games he played were in the ISL 2017-2018 season.
The boy from Punjab witnessed a meteoric rise in his football career. From university football to the Indian national team squad. Davinder’s display in the U-23 national team at the 2018 Asian Football Confederation Championship qualifiers had caught the eye of the then senior national team head coach Stephen Constantine.
This led to Davinder’s first national team call up in 2018 at the South Asian Football Federation Championship. He had gone on to make three international appearances for the Blue Tigers to date.
“I am even more determined to bring success back to CFC and my ambition is to make my way back to representing the Indian national team again. I believe this will happen,” said Davinder in an interview about signing for his new club and his fightback from injury to represent his country again.
