The 5th league game of the ISL campaign saw the fastest goal scored this season 52 seconds in by Chennaiyin FC midfielder Anirudh Thapa. The 22 year old rifled a shot in from an Esmael Goncalves cross to open the scoring early. Thapa also happens to be the first Indian to score this season in the Indian Super League.
The midfielder’s goal is the 4th fastest goal in the history of the Indian Super League.

Winger Esmael Goncalves further extended Chennaiyin FC’s to 2-0, scoring from a penalty following a foul on Lallianzuala Chhangte in the box.
Nerijus Valskis pulled one back for Jamshedpur in the first half but it wasn’t enough for a comeback.
This win puts Chennaiyin FC top of the league whilst Jamshedpur sit 8th.
