Brazilian superstar Neymar Jr has opened up about his early days and the moment he turned down a massive offer from Real Madrid. Currently playing for Santos FC, Neymar revealed in an interview with Podpah that the Spanish giants offered him a blank check to secure his signature. However, despite the financial incentives, his heart was set on Barcelona.
“I said no to Real Madrid with a crazy bid, my heart was only for Barca. I’d have made three times the money by accepting Madrid. But I wanted Barca,” Neymar stated.
The Brazilian forward ultimately fulfilled his dream, joining Barcelona in 2013, where he formed a legendary attacking trio alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez. His decision proved that he is not fond of money.
