“I am coming soon”, says Zinedine Zidane

French legend Zinedine Zidane has dropped a bombshell over his coaching career which went silent after his last Real Madrid stint.

French footballing legend and coaching genius, Zinedine Zidane has revealed that he will be returning to football management ‘soon’. Zidane boasts one of the most special accolades in footballing management history having won the Champions League a record 3 times “consecutively”. He has only been a Real Madrid on two different occasions.

Speaking to RMC Sport, Zidane said: ‘Do I miss the coach’s suit? No, I’m not far away, we wait, we wait a little bit. Soon, soon. I’m not far from coaching again,’ quipped the title-winning player and manager.

It is worth noting that “Zizou” has won numerous trophies as a manager in his first-ever spell- La Liga, Champions League, Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup in multiples. He left Real Madrid at the end of the 2017-18 season after winning his 3rd UCL as a manager, thereby completing the famous 3-peat.

The French icon returned to Real Madrid assuming the same role in 2019 after a series of poor results by Madrid, made some promising signings under him including the likes of Eden Hazard and carried Los Blancos to another La Liga title. He left at the end of the 2020-21 season after his “first trophyless season” which was also injury-ridden and remains the only manager to date to have never been sacked by the famous president Florentino Perez. He was widely tipped to become the next French manager and with Didier Deschamps delivering poor recent performances, Zidane’s long-term wish can come true. Regardless of that, he has publicly stated that he is returning. Only time will tell where, although any big club would love to have him.
