Hyderabad FC drop two crucial points as they held to a 1-1 draw by Chennaiyin FC

Hyderabad FC had a chance to go second in the Hero Indian Super League points table but a draw against Chennaiyin FC on Thursday keeps them in third place.

Hyderabad FC was held to a 1-1 draw by Chennaiyin FC on Thursday in the Hero Indian Super League. It was a disappointing night for the visitors as they lost two crucial points which would see them in the top 2 of the Hero Indian Super League 2021/22 season points table. Hyderabad FC is in a great run of form this season and they are currently in the third position in the points table just behind Jamshedpur FC and Kerala Blasters FC who are in second and first respectively.

Talking about this game, Manolo Marquez’s Hyderabad FC dominated the entire game but couldn’t find the winning goal which was important for them to compete with the top two teams. The host Chennaiyin FC scored the opening goal of this match in just 13 minutes. It was scored by an Indian defender named Mohammad Sajid Dhot. His beautiful header gets past Hyderbad’s goalkeeper and gave the host a 1-0 lead. But after that goal, Hyderabad FC played more sharply and was passing the ball really well. Just before the half-time whistle, the visitors found the equalizer. The equalizing goal was scored by striker Javier Siverio which made the score 1-1 at halftime.

The second half sees no goal. Hyderabad FC despite having 24 shots on Chennaiyin’s goal went back home with just a single point. Chennaiyin FC’s organized defence didn’t let them score and take 3 points from this game. However, there are still a lot of games to play and Hyderabad FC has a chance to go on top of the points table.
