
On Sunday Hyderabad FC faced off Kerala Blasters for the final game of Hero ISL (Indian Super League). The final game of this season 2021-22 was played at the PJN Stadium in Margao, Goa. This season the book of Hero ISL wrote the name of Hyderabad FC as the new winner for its Trophy.
This was the third time for Kerala Blasters to reach the end and have competed in the finals. Blasters earlier made it to finals in 2014 and 2016. wherein both occasions they fought against ATK but lost the finals. And this time their dream to hold the Trophy of Hero ISL had been shattered by Hyderabad FC.
After a goalless draw in halftime, it was the 68th minute of the match when Rahul KP take a shot on the net. Which took Kerala Blasters at a lead of 1-0. But the lead doesn’t remain for long as before the end of 90 minutes Hyderabad FC scored an equalizer goal. As in the 87th minute of the match, Sahil Tavora’s half volley finds the bottom corner of the net.
After the end of the 90-minute game with a draw of 1-1, there was added extra time to the bright dramatic finals ISL season 2021-22. The match still was dragged to the penalty round. Hyderabad made their win out of it this penalty round against Kerala Blasters by 3-1. As Bartholomew Ogbeche, Yasir Mohammad including Javier Siverio each scored a goal in the penalties.
